DVA 225 Idle draw
« on: 21 Mar 2022, 05:04 pm »
Hi all,
My wife just added the ask that I configure our system to be run by her with just her phone. The big issue on that is going to be the amps either always being on or being on 12v triggers.

It looks like the 225s don't have triggers. Does anyone know what the rough idle draw is if I leave them on and active all the time?

Thanks!

I had thought about outlets, but feels like that is pretty rough on the gear. I can ask Frank though.

I don't know if this will work for you, but with some amplifiers I have owned, I turned them on in the morning and shut them off before I went to bed.

They might work if you turn the amps on first and preamp on last.  But Frank is the authority.

The M225's will work just fine on a smart outlet, just leave the on/off switch pushed in.

They draw roughly 1 amp at idle, ABOUT 100w (each).

Why not just show her how to turn the amps on?

She was kind enough to let me put 900lbs of speakers in the living room - I want to honor her one ask that she can play music on it with just her phone

FYI all - I took the plunge and just ordered a pair of the 225's.
