Should I upgrade my Tice Solo A/V?
« on: 27 Dec 2005, 03:36 pm »
My system is fairly simple:

Aiwa XC-37M (w. Stan Warren mods)
Sony AVD-C70ES
BenQ DV3750 LCD Panel
DirectTV HD DVR (Hughes HR10-250)

I have everything plugged into a Tice Solo A/V that I picked up on Audiogon a while back. There is a little bit of noise through the speakers when no source is playing but the amp is on.

I've been thinking about getting a better power conditioner to address this, possibly the Equi=Tech Son of Q Jr from Bolder. I figure that removing the grunge that is causing that noise can only help the rest of the system.

Does anyone have enough experience with the Tice to give any recommendations? I don't see much discussion about it, but they still seem to be popping up on Audiogon now and then. Anybody have other power conditioners to recommend? I definitely don't want to go more expensive than the Equi=Tech, and if I can go lower then of course that's great. But, is it crazy to think that cheaper conditioners might actually be better than the Tice?

Thanks in advance for the help.
