I'll take hybrid suggestions too. Thanks. :thumb:

...I'd look seriously at those or the stereo DNA-500.

I'd also consider the discontinued 200- to 250-WPC Conrad-Johnson amps, a few of which are hybrid and especially the MET250S.

I hope you're enjoying your Treos. With what are you driving them now?

Just got Ayre electronics. WOW. I've heard them all with various Vandy's and they sound incredible.

I've heard this amp with 2CE's. Just an INCREDIBLE integrated amp. Dual mono, very heavy with two beastly transformers and very nice indeed.

It's got the guts to drive anything and finesse too. Secondly on a budget, go with the Parasound A21 stereo amp. Much better than it has a right to be at it's price point.

Anyone heard the Treos with a Bryston 4b SST2? I have this amp paired with Audio Research LS15 line stage. I have auditioned the Treo at my dealer where they were being powered by a pair of Parasound mono blocs and thought that was a good match. On paper it would seem that the newer Bryston amps would work well. Anyone heard this combination?

The best SS amps with my Vandy 5A's have been the following:
McCormack DNA-500
BAT VK-600 SE
NCore NC400

I really like the SimAudio gear on my 5As. I use a P-7 and W-7. As far as I know, the Vandys tend to be a little on the laid back /warm side, so you want to keep that in mind to not compound that with too warm of ampllification. Be sure to use bi-wired speaker cables if the Treos are set up that way.

Bi wire is a MUST. Don't even think about Vandy's if you aren't able to bi wire/amp. You won't be happy. I walked away from Vandy's years ago when I heard them. They weren't bi wired and I"m sure that made the difference. I disagree about warm amps. John at Audio Connection in NJ is as good as anyone I've met in the industry adn putting systems together and not just selling components that are rated highly. He runs the Vandy's with AR and Quickies that are neutral, but still on the warmer side. He also runs them on Aestetix tubed gear and WOW!!!! My Ayre is considered warm for SS and it's an AWESOME match. I think you need to make sure you are using higher end AQ cables with it as that will make a big difference. It's the cables that Richard himself uses. The speakers sound even better with any turntable, but the 7's blew me away with Ayre mono's, AR's best preamp with top AQ cables and Music Surroundings TT. Best sound I've ever heard, bar none and I've heard tons of 100k plus speakers.
