Systems

Not bad for the money, small room., a Two-channel Audio System by Kurtamus

Room Size
Way too small and square - 12.5 x 14 feet
System Overview
I am on the lower end of the price spectrum, and the room is definitely too small, but I have it tweaked to sound pretty good. I have toyed with going with small box speakers, but just don't know if I would be happy with boxes. Ohm 1000 Tall's have crossed my mind. Historically I have owned three pairs of Vandys (Models 1, 2CI, and 1C) and two pairs of Maggies (MMG and 1.7's) among various other experimentation's over the years.
Music Preferences
Just about everything but modern pop, rap or hiphop.
Room Description
This was the master bedroom in a modest house, so it is way to small to be a proper listening room, but you gotta deal with what you have. I am a constant speaker position tweaker, so I am also often tweaking with the room treatments as well. The big (to me) Maggie 1.7's can sound surprisingly good in this small room. It is definitely near field listening, but it works pretty well.
Acoustic Treatment
GIK TriTraps floor to ceiling behind speakers. GIK 242 with diffraction plates on each sidewall behind speakers. 3- GIK GridFusers at wall-ceiling juncture behind speakers. Wall behind the listening chair, which is about 3 1/2 feet from the wall, is well damped.
Listening Impressions
Magnepan transparency, bass is pretty well controlled. Speakers are just over five feet from wall, so I am sitting about 6 feet away from speakers. Currently set up in basically the "Limage" format. Moving speakers far into the room tamed an upper bass hump.
Media Storage
I have a 30 year CD collection ripped to .wav, these are stored on two different computers and three different backup drives (with at least one out of the house at all times). These are played via the Raspberry Pi 4/PiCorePlayer streamer via WiFi, never had a network glitch. I occasionally play a CD, but mostly play via the R-Pi 4 streamer.
