Forgive me if I seem to be beating on this damn horse but I read this thread

This particular thread is for the ICE amps but I've been told the buffer is the same - at least in regards to the tubes you can roll. True? If so, why won't the Psvane 12AU7-Ts I ordered work with my amp. In this thread:

Ian from Grant Fidelity says he would not recommend this tube as a replacement, let alone an upgrade. What gives?
Just for funzies, or because someone might see something obvious, here's my simple system: Grant Fidelity RPF-120 MKII Reference Power Conditioner, XPC Shuttle Music Server, Centrance DACmini CX, Virtue M-901 with Clarity MRs and Dodd buffer on 24v 28ah batteries and Soneil charging system, GR N3s. All the wires, from the USB to the speakers are of at least descent quality (The USB is a Cardas Clear, and that's probably about the average of what I have in quality for each piece).
