New NAD amps - prefab Ncore at DIY prices?

The author of the blurb wrote "Encore."

If so, that's a huge price reduction for an Ncore based amp. Should NAD do a multichannel Ncore, I'd be sorely tempted to sell my ATI AT2007.

It's probably the UcD line that has "some" NCore technology.

Had the opportunity to have a chat with Bruno at the Munich High End last week.  NAD in their marketing material says the output stage is "licenced" from Hypex, but Bruno said it's a Hypex UCD module

I have a D3020 and am absolutely delighted with the performance for the money.

It's being fed by Qobuz > Sonos > miniDSP with Dirac > D3020 > KEF LS50

Most of the conversation was about the Mola Mola DAC as described on the Mola Mola blog.  I tried to persuade Bruno to do a DSD only version, with lower parts count and cost for the DIY market.  I said to Bruno that PCM to DSD conversion software had gotten so good that the case for a DSD only DAC was pretty strong

Pure DSD DAC, yes!  Look at the $150 Schiit Loki.  Unfortunately for me, my setup requires 10m of USB and Loki is limited to 2m.

Well, their latest press release has Ncore all over the place.

$4k for the seven-channel one, and $3k for the 2-channel one.

I am not a lawyer but the two are not mutually exclusive. It would be smart for both parties to have a licensing agreement to protect their interests.
