Remote volume features ????
« on: 27 Feb 2003, 02:10 am »
Hi,

I am designing a remote volume control kit with the following features. Please add to the list...

1) Two relay schemes
   A) Relay switching of resistors with 256 (64 usable) levels (1 board handles balanced channel)
   B) Relay switching of resistor pairs (only two resistors in signal at a time) with 24 levels. Also allows switching of Transformers (TX102, etc)
(1 board handles 1 channel, need 4 for balanced 2 channel)
2) Support for LCD display (can include 5 buttons, crystalfontz 633) - not required for operation
3) Or support for 5 input buttons (up/down, next, prev, mute)
4) rotary Encoder based volume option.
5) Selection of up to 6 inputs via relays (balanced or single ended.)
6) simple IR remote control.

Options:

1) some sort of zero gain buffer (BUF634) ?
2) Include chassis and 12V power supply?
3) VFD instead of LCD
How much would (besides free) would you pay for the basic kit?

Best Regards,

Dale
