I took a look at it while at Fry's the other day too.  The reviews seem good, but I haven't figured out if there's any motivation over something like a Canon XSi (about the same price and size/weight).  I'd have to try shooting both of them in a better situation.

I've owned an Olympus fixed lens camera and was very please with it. Obviously at 2 megapixel it was nothing to write home about in the detail/clarity realm, but I can say it took some very nice pictures. I know that doesn't help one iota on whether the e-620 is worth it or not, but the price is very reasonable.

Sounds like a great starter. For $700 with 2 lenses that's a good deal for a DSLR.
