Title: SR7 Fuse/Power selector
Post by: tunepotato on 12 Sep 2015, 08:02 pm
Paul,
I just wanted to say thanks, I received my SR7.  I am in the process of setting everything up this weekend and I have two questions before I can proceed.

1.) I noticed on the back there is a voltage selector switch, it is on the 240V, since I am in the USA do I switch this to the 120V setting?

2.) The current fuse in the unit is a 2.5A Slow blow 250V. The sticker on the back of the unit indicates that a 5A fuse is required. Should I replace the supplied fuse with a 5A Slow blow 250V fuse or 5A Slow blow 120V fuse?

Thanks again, I will wait for your response before I plug my unit in.

Brent

Hello Brent,

Yes to both questions.

The voltage selector should be set to 120v for the USA.

A 2.5AT fuse would be fine for steady use up to full PSU rating but may suffer fatigue failure after repetitive switch-on surges so 5A would be prefered.

Regards
Paul
