Hi James. Do you find The Galaxy and MPDroid to be as good as the IPad app? I don't have either yet so just trying to find out which direction to go.

I much prefer the iPad apps - MPOD and MPAD.

Thanks for the tip. The only reason I shy away from Apple products is because they become obsolete about every year.

I agree - but if the main purpose of the iPad is to communicate with the BDP-1 then that will not change.

Here's a thought. Is the IPad 1 app the same as IPad 2? I do basically want to use it to control the BDP1. Can probably get a good deal on an IPad 1.

Only thing I have heard (rumor) is the IPAD 2 is better at wireless connections.

Doesn't look like any deals out there worth a *@#%* for the IPad 1

Hi Guys,

Just came across a piece of software called Songbook '11 and wondered if there is any possibility it could be used to control the BDP-1, I'm guessing not but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks James, not that it really matters as I'm 100% happy with Mpad, I just thought it may be something new to play with :)

Have you tried GNOME on a laptop or desktop?

Hi James,

Hope this is the right place for a feature request: since we all remotely operate the BDP, and I for one can not read the bitrate leds on the BDA from a far I was wondering whether it would be possible to have those bitrates leds mimicked on the Max interface. Including the upsample-led. I know the bitrate in Max is indicated in the playlist, but I am not sure that is the realtime bitrate of the file or just coded/tagged into the file like the albumart.

Maybe best illustrated by the radiofeature: no bitrate indication in Max, and the BDA shows what it's processing. Would be nice to have in Max.

(would also be beautiful Eyecandy) :P

I do realize this is a BDP topic and no BDA topic, but since there is no web-interface to the the BDA I thought it would be a very nice extra, and no other place to ask.

Thanks,
Marius

Hi Marius,

I will ask on the bit-rate indication on the interface but so far all the test we have run indicate that the bit-rate shown on the MAX interface correlates with the bit-rate on the BDA-1..... 100%.

Also in MPOD and MPAD you can see the bit-rate by tapping on the album cover.

great!
Am I overlooking the bitrate in the radio playlist? Can not find it in the column on the left when playing those stations.

Hi James,

I had a quick play and was very impressed but I find all do all my controlling of the BDP-1 through the Ipad so in the end I didn't explore it any further.

Basically, is Mpad and Max still the best 2 control interfaces using the Ipad to control the BDP-1?

Thanks.

Just wanted to say that I am really liking Gnome to run music on the BDP-1.  It never crashes and is fast.

Yes I like it too and its great on a Notepad Computer :thumb:.  GNOME does not need a browser to connect so you get a direct connection to the BDP1 and GNOME is the oldest Linux based music player out there.
