I knows lots of audiophiles who enjoy and love to play with vintage equipment. I haven't posted here in a while, but lately I have been experimenting with vintage, manual lenses on modern, mirrorless cameras. This image was take with a Vintage, Circa 1970s Minolta Rokkor X Lens adapted to a Fujifilm Camera Body. Enjoy!

Hey!

I'm a fan of Minolta lenses. I started out in photography with Minolta AF film cameras, I still have those lenses which I sometime using with an adapter on my Sony A7 II.

I'm still shoot with film sometime and one of my all time favorite 35mm film camera is the Minolta SRT 101... the early one with mirror lock up. I do have a few other MF Minolta camera and with that I also have a few old Minolta MC and MD lenses. Yes, those old lenses have a nice look to them. Old Minolta lenses tend to have a slight warmer tone and not as contrasty but it does have a rounder dimensional feel to it. Maybe you've already know this, Leica partnered with Minolta in the '70s. They exchanged the camera and lenses tech know-how. I believe some of the Leica SLR lenses were made by Minolta.

  Anyway, have fun!

Hi Buddy! Great to hear some news from you. Yes, I was aware of the Minolta Leica partnership in the 70s. Both made great glass! I inherited a bunch of vintage Pentax lenses in addition to the old Minolta, and I also have some Sony/Zeiss lenses that can be adapted as well. The manual lens definitely have their character. All of these are great companies. Vintage lenses are perhaps less sterile? Since I like analogue, think vinyl, I also like the look of analogue images. Hope you're well out there in NYC! Stay healthy and safe. Best regards!

Here's a shot from an adapted Circa 1970s Pentax 28mm f/2.8 Lens @ f/8. Another vintage look!

A lovely photograph with beautiful colour rendering.
As a non-specialist, Pentax were the first lens I took note of. A friend took photos of his daughters and they were all so notably beautiful I asked him why, and he attributed it to his 90mm Pentax lens which he had mounted on a Canon body (I think, this was 40 years ago) for economy, because all he cared about was the lens. Ever since then I have noticed how much I like them. I feel the same way about Leica in general.
I'm still no photography buff, but I enjoy my Ricoh GR III and my iPhone 12 Pro Max which makes better decisions than I do, most of the time.

What makes a photo? That's in the eye of the photographer.
This photo as I recall looked like colors on a marble. But it also has depth that may not be apparent on first look.
A snow covered field meeting the sky in the horizon.
