SP2 defect
« on: 2 Feb 2010, 11:24 am »
Dear Bryston,

I have a few problems with mine SP2. The SP2 is almost 3 years old and the following is not working correctly:
1. It's almost not possible to read the display
2. When I use the mute button there is still comming sound out of mine speakers, a very low one. It depends on how loud the volume buttons stands.
3. Sometimes the SP2 doesn't do anything anymore and I have to reset the SP2. This happens ones a month.
4. Sometimes there is no sound comming through the SP2, after I twist and turn the volume button the sonds suddenly works.
5. The remote control doesn't work anymore.

My questions are:
1) What happens if I bring it to the distributor (Mafico, The Netherlands)? Do they repair it or do they send it to Bryston in Canada?
2) And how long will it take to repair it?
3) Do I have to pay for it? I ask this question because maybe I have to pay researchcost to Mafico, this is only when they find nothing or not all of mine problems.

already thanks for the answers.

After 2 months I still don't have mine SP2 back. Í just heard that there was no software error but all the relais where out of order. Now they 're replacing all the relais.

How is this possible? What can happend that all the relais have to be replaced? What's next?
Sorry for all those questions, but this wasn't a cheap buy (in Canadian dollars it costs $8720,=)

And again the SP2 is doing weird things.

1) The sound is going to it's maximum volume by it self.
2) The SP shut down by its own or it shut down and start up again.
3) The remote is also not working anymore, fantastic because I use the remote once a month. Only when my Logitech is empty.

What can it be? I mean just one year ago it also has troubbles and all the intern stuff is replaced. What is next to happen?

Please James what is the best thing to do?
