There is likely a newer thread for Live Music on AC. but my quick search hasn’t identified it.

AND I have been dormant on AC for the most part [ I have check in to see if I can help friends on gear…but no posts]

Well, LIVE MUSIC is happening again!!! March 2022

In the last two months I finally saw amazing live music in Oakland and San Francisco – after a two year hiatus! Bjork’s Cornucopia show was absolutely mindblowing! It was my third time seeing her, each time was unique. Jose Gonzalez is so talented–my fourth time seeing him. Still amazing!. Charlotte Day Wilson, is off the radar of most, but she gave us an awesome intmate show at The New Parish. Let the music play!

Tucson Folk Festival - April 1-3, 2022

The Tucson Folk Festival is back after 2 years. The 37th Annual Folk Festival is the largest free music festival in Arizona with 125 performers on 5 outdoor stages in downtown Tucson.
https://www.tucsonfolkfest.org/

Singer songwriters from Arizona join nationally recognized headline acts for a laid back weekend. It's all shorts and sandals and fun during these outrageously beautiful 83 degree spring days in the desert.

This years headliners include Cary Morin, Vance Gilbert, Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble, Tish Hinojosa, and Watkins Family Hour.

Watkins Family Hour are brother and sister Sean and Sara Watkins, both musicians play in Nickle Creek along with mandolinist Chris Thile. Sara was a regular on both "A Prarrie Home Companion" and "Live From Here". Sara has toured with singer-songwriter Tift Merritt,  Robert Earl Keen, appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon with John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) on bass, Questlove of The Roots on drums and her brother Sean Watkins on guitar and toured with Jackson Browne as the opening act for his acoustic winter tour.

Sara and Sean Watkins on Saturday night, a magical set with impeccable harmonies and playing:

I'll be at the festival all day Sunday, look for the guy in the coatimundi baseball cap and say hi.

Takeout Troubadours at the Tucson Hop Shop on their outdoor patio.

Loren Dircks (without beard) and Joel Ford (with beard) play high octane hillbilly rock and roll and ill-advised covers. Halfway through the first set the manager asked them to turn it down a little, those 2 old guys were rockin' out.

Loren Dircks was/is the lead guitarist, singer and songwriter of the early 1990's iconic Tucson band "Gila Bend", who, along with Al Perry, pioneered the distinctive Tucson Country Metal sound.
