Is that a seas tweeter? Is it better than the ribbon in the old designs?

Looks like the Scan-speak AirCirc (6600), Rick's been using it a lot in recent designs (SS dipole, Garnet, etc.)

Scan-Speak AirCirc tweeter. It's really a matter of preference and I could live with either one.

Would I be right in guessing that ribbons are more detailed and dome tweeter better integrates with the woofer?

I consider driver integration to be a specialty of mine and I wouldn't say that the dome is better in that regard. Without comparing them side-by-side I can't really comment on the differences; however, I will say that you can't go wrong with either design. I would invite anyone to compare these with the current darling 2-way of the high end press.

Seems like you're putting together a lot of Scan-Speak loudspeakers lately Rick, must be you like their sound? Just happens to be my favorite driver for portraiting the emotional aspects of the music.  :D

Cheers,
Robin

Very clean and neutral drivers plus good detail.  :thumb:

No it's not that speaker but I will say that spending that much to upgrade a budget speaker is foolish. If it were me I would put the extra $ into better drivers.

In the interest of not starting a flame war I'll not mention what speaker I had in mind.

Yes, a kit will be available. Just send me an email with your shipping address and I can give you a quote. You can also purchase the cabinets precut in cherry (pictured here), maple, and black ash.
