What can I say? Gorgeous!!!!

Thank you for the compliment.  I am very pleased with the way they turned out.  I'm already working on my next project, a high efficient speaker for my 2A3s.

Noob question: does that cabinet design require baffle step compensation?
What crossover slopes did you use?
So, the alluminium illuminator performs better than the eton? How?

Yes, some step compensation though that becomes a little more complicated with a 3-way design. The slopes are proprietary. The Scan-Speak woofer's motor design is superior to Eton and the cone material is more rigid. The Eton has higher sensitivity but at the expense of bass extension.

What sort of design / concept do you have in mind?

I'm thinking about using Vintage Altec drivers like the Altec 416 woofer and some 802 compression drivers to go with the 32b horn.  I'm trying to decide if I should use the 12" or the 15" woofer because the enclosure will have to be so large just for some mid 30's bass.  Although I must say those 416 sound great on just an 8 watt amp.   Not in a hurry.  Still enjoying my current speakers.

What does "proprietary" slope mean? I lack the knowledge of proprietary meaning. I've also read that you can't see the avalon's original crossovers, as they are covered with some resin.

Avalon like many others (my Sonus faber had potted XO) pot their XO
to obscure both the componets types, quality & circuits.  From idle eyes
& hands

Rick's XO is his creation, hence the proprietary designation.

Nice desgin...nice construction & execution.

I'm they sound wonderful.  Well done 3 ways are quite good.
quite often better than 2way + sub (s)  imho

If we don't go OT, can you please tell me why? Maybe because you have better phase coherency? Or because with a 3 way you can cut the mid higher (a subwoofer shouldn't be cut higher than 150hz in 90% of cases), and thus have less distorsion?
