Hello all,

I'm joining mainly to discuss and learn about subwoofers, IB, OB, sealed box, etc. My dedicated system is built around floor-to-ceiling electrostatics, and 4x10 inch dynamic woofers, digitally crossed over at around 300hz. I use digital room correction. I have a secondary system also with electrostatics. I'm considering adding subwoofers to both systems.

Sealed boxes are obsolete in hifi, just afew subs using it today.Bass Reflex offer much more bass and SPL w/most drivers.

I have found that it is important to match radiation patterns.  Your main speakers (ESL's) are dipoles; for best results your subs should be dipoles too. I tried lots of box subs but never could get them to match up. I am now using a three-stack per side of the  GR Research 12" OB servos and they match up very well. Welcome to the forum.
