Congratulations on joining the proud and exclusive family of BMW wagon owners.

I also have a 2010 535i (E61) wagon which I enjoy.  Looked at the current 3 series wagon and liked it, but the cargo space was too small for my two dog crates.  My wife recently purchased a 2016 BMW X3 because the crates would fit and she liked the way it handled and performed better than her 2009 Toyota Venza.  My wife and I are both vertically challenged so the leg room in the front seats of the X3 is not a problem for us.

I keep hoping BMW will resume importing the 5 series Touring into the US.  Because only about 1,000 E61 vehicles annually were sold in the US, I understand the economics behind BMW's decision not to offer the current F11 (5 series) wagon here.  I am still searching for a future replacement for my E61 or maybe I will just keep it for another 5 years.

Do it, so I don't have to, it's killing me.  :duh:

Cargo capacity of the E46 is too limited for my purposes.  However, I still miss the 2003 E39 that I traded in on the E61.

I enjoy a six speed M/T in my 2005 MINI Cooper S Convertible (less than 50,000 miles).  This is my fun car for warmer weather months.  If I put the top down I can maneuver two smaller dog crates on the folded back seat.  I took one dog with me to the MINIs on the Mack event.  http://www.today.com/money/mini-mack-falls-short-world-record-largest-mini-cooper-gathering-t36486
