There's just something special about undressed Asian beauties...

It just so happens that my wife is an Asian beauty and her English name just happens to be Melody.  8)

Thanks for the tube porn, Hugh!  :thumb:

Guy,

Very nice!

Even though they are different languages, I still notice some similarities. In this case your wife's name contains two parts 'Hong' and 'Ngoc'. It sure looks as though the Vietnamese 'hong' is the same as the Mandarin 'hong' for red, yes? Additionally,in several Asian cultures jade is held in high esteem with many stones' names containing the phoneme 'Yu'. Is it possible that Ngoc has the same meaning as Yu?

If this is the case, Hugh, is your surname Ngoc? [I ask because my wife's surname is Yu.]

Call me a geek, but I find all the Asian languages' similarities and ancestries very interesting.

Morning Michael,

You are correct about Hong as in Red.
Not sure about Ngoc & Yu though.

Re Chinese languages such as Mandarin & Cantonese, modern day people said Chinese languages have different dialects while in reality, if we go back to the time of the first emperor of China, those so-called dialects were actually languages of the kingdoms conquered by him.

Re surname, I found this info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nguyen

Hugh,

40% of Vietnamese people share your surname! I did not know.

Back in 1989 in Taiwan (+/- 1 yr) I had a Chinese teacher with the Ruan surname. I don't know about this surname's distribution in China, but it is very uncommon in Taiwan.

Thanks!

Michael,

Basically, as far as I can tell, most people changed their surname to the king's at that time and my guess is they tried to form a somewhat royal image to their family.

From the article, we can say that Nguyen is Yu or vice versa. :-)
Just like Tran versus Chen or Chan.
