Title: Okay, I'll do a cable tour too - need participants
Post by: Bill Baker on 20 Apr 2010, 08:51 pm
Cables are obviousy one of the more controversial components in this hobby. That being said, I am going to do a tour for our Clarity Labs "Harvest II" interconnect towards the end of this month. I will make up two sets of 2 pair to go out for 5 days each. They will be broken in prior to going out so 5 days should be adequate for an evaluation.

Once I get some time on them I will get them out. Those interested can post interest in this thread and then email me (prefered) at Response34@aol.com with name, address and phone number. If you PM me, please include your email address.

They will go out in the order inquiries are submited to this thread. I will determine the best seperation of the two sets based on the locations of those on the tour.

Each set will contain 2 pair of 1M intercnnects and will only go to 5 individuals so we can have them through everyone within a month or so.

If anyone wants to purchase the Harvest II cables based on the tour (even if you're not on the tour), we will be selling the $159 1M pair for $125 pr.

I have some cables from Bill and they're definitely keepers.
Use them all the time.

The "East Coast" cables are going out Monday morning and starting their tour in PA. We still have a couple of spots left in this tour with the other set of cables also having a few spots left.

The East Coast Harvest II cables are on their way to the first in line. Still have some room left in both tours. If you're interested, see the above post for details on how to get in. No claims being made by me and No obligations for you.

If the Harvest II tour goes well, I will consider doing a similar tour with our Foxfire II interconnect for those who do like and prefer an all silver cable.

Hi Bill,

Just saw this thread (I know, I need to pay more attention) and am wondering if there will be a West Coast tour?  If so sign me up and I'll send the personal info.

Thanks,
Jake

All,

This is a very preliminary review, better yet, initial impressions of the Clarity Harvest II interconnects out on tour.  Bill was gracious enough to let me be first in line for these really nice interconnects.

Upon receipt, I gave the cables a quick listen before placing them on the ISOTEK burn-in CD for the recommended 75 - 100 hours. Initial impressions at the 24 hour mark; these cables do the midrange and bass very well, have a very nicely defined soundstage, and have exceptional tone. The top end was good, but not on the same plane as the rest of the audio spectrum.  A most intriguing aspect was that they were very quiet, as if some type of damping were in place. The cables have very substancial connectors, and may be a contributing factor. I will check in with Bill on that.

At the 50 hour mark everything started to even out, bass, midrange, treble were now of the same quality.  These are very nice, with cleanly defined imaging and stage depth. They do piano and voice very well.  If I had the characterize their temperature, it would be on the slightly warm side of neutral.  I will give a follow-up after final break-in next week.

From Bill's website: We do not offer 'miracle wire', only your ears will tell you what is right.

Bravo!

Maybe Diogenes has finally found his honest man.

I would love to be able to say we did but the reality of it is there really is no 'miracle' anything other than a well thought out and properly executed design.

Got 'em.

Wont start testing till tomorrow.

When I'm done I can either send them onto jkelly, or hand deliver them to eclein at the NY RAVE GTG next Saturday, as I believe we'll both be attending.
