What new companies have you learned about? I'm always looking around for new gadgets and gadget makers. Sometimes we get tunnel vision and only see what we know about. For example: I say computer, you say DELL! I say HDTV you say SONY!

What about this scenario: "I'm looking for a new _____ (fill in)." Let's look at the companies and devices that I know about.

That needs to be changed to, "I'm looking for a new____(fill in)." Let's all at ALL the options.

When looking at new things and companies, it's damaging to say things like, "Never heard of them (or it!) Hmmm...I don't know....."

As soon as , "I don't know..." comes around, assumptions are made. Those assumptions are based on what? That's my point exactly.

Facing the unknown while shopping for something should be thought of as an experience that can enlighten and build knowledge. It's logical to take a little time and learn about companies and devices that often go under the radar. Have some fun!
