Hey now, I've been doing this for over 40+ years I'm an "EXPERT"!!!!!!
I've got Furutech ends ordered anyway. The plugs cost more than the whole thing.
I'm an Audiophile don't forget it.

I found it rewarding financially and emotionally to be able to assemble the power cords myself.  I will say that I felt a bit confused at first, but one email exchange with Madisound helped clarify the process greatly- it was they who pointed me to the YouTube video.  From there, all it took was some patience, rudimentary tools, including a continuity tester, and I was good.  I did a total of four power cords and may do a couple more.

It's a hobby and I enjoy doing what I personally can.  :)

Is the drain wire part of the shield or is it the Safety Ground/Protective Earth conductor?
If it's the SG/PE conductor, is it as large as the Hot & Neutral conductors?

The 3 wires are 16 ga the drain wire is probably 30ga is in contact with the mylar/foil wrap.
So it is not a part of the SG conductor till (if) you make it that way. As I mentioned my old XLO has it and did not have it connected at both ends. Just dumb if it's not connected both ends saying its a safety factor. May affect the EMI/RFI shielding. They should have supplied written instructions.

Some of you guys are making this much more difficult than necessary.  Either buy the cables ready-made or watch the video and DIY.

It's not, as the cliche' goes, brain surgery.

So if the drain wire is:
a] connected at both ends it becomes part of the Safety Ground/Protective Earth conductor and carries some of the leakage currents and noise.
b] connected only at the wall outlet (with many homes not have metal conduit/tubing) it's just a stub not doing much.
c] connected only at the component chassis. it acts as an extension of the chassis shield.

Hello,
are there any other opinions on the Supra power strip?
I had the Sirius from Isotek and the sound became annoyingly sterile with it.
That's why I have reservations about a power strip with a filter.

"annoyingly sterile" is a good way of putting it. I sold both a little while after I got them. At the time I was fighting a lot of forwardness in my Usher CP6371. I treated the whole room after. Different systems have different effects.

I stated that it was sold. All I use here is a Brickwall Line filter for a long time. All Maestro outlets.
I tried this stuff because it was reasonable $$ Isotek is supposed to be good, but all system dependent of course.

I think the Isotek stuff is really bad.
If Supra is no good either, I can leave it.

I live in California and saved money on the LoRad power cables by buying them from futureshop in the UK.
