Title: SMPS1200A400 to NC400 connections
Post by: boffellid on 30 Jul 2014, 05:57 pm
I have a new question on a topic which was previously discussed. I am planning to connect an SMPS1200A400 to an NC400 module. In a previous thread on this topic (see figure at http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=115095.msg1202323#msg1202323) it was suggested to connect pin J7:11 on the NC400 (which provides Vdr optional external driver supply connection) to pin J1:4 on the SMPS1200 (which provides VdrN negative bootstrap driver voltage). Why should the NC400 connection go to the negative bootstrap connection, rather than the positive connection (provided by pin J1:1 on the SMPS1200)? What is the function of this connection, and is it needed at all?

Thank you,
Dario

Why are you going to use that SMPS?

I am building a center+surround amplifier: the SMPS1200 will power 1xNC400 and 2xUcD400 (I have NC400+SMPS600 monos for the front speakers ...)
