Title: FS: SP14 Preamp by Roy Mottran. PRICE REDUCED!
Post by: rtorne on 20 Dec 2016, 02:12 pm
For Sale my beloved SP14 PREAMP by Tubes4HiFi - Roy Mottran.
I think good enough things have been said here. It is a fantastic sounding preamp.
Baby is coming soon so we need money and space.
The Left and Right gain knobs are bypassed, I found the sound is better like this. The Tape switch on the front left isnĀ“t connected, I never had a tape recorder.
Tubes are NOS Sylvania and Raysonic supplied and tested by Roy.
Coupling caps are russian PIO. I decided to connect them in paralell with the standard Sonicaps. You can try different better caps, but for the price the russians are just excelent.
Price is $800USD + shipping.
You can pay via paypal (add paypal fee), wire transfer or cash.
Located in NY. 11420.

Thank you!
Yes. It is a very sweet preamp. The aikido circuit is noise free and its delicacy can be enjoyed through this fantastic SP14 design. Not glad about selling it but very happy for the reasons I have to.
Regards
Raul

I assume it's easy enough to put the left and right gain controls back in the chain?  I kind of like the idea of being able to adjust gain once based on the amp and then forget it.  Unless there didn't seem to be any need to do so based on how it's configured now, of course.

Yes it is. You just need to know how to solder.
I could send you the wiring diagram for additional help.
