Dumb Squeezecenter question!
« on: 14 Jul 2009, 04:13 pm »
OK, I have a dumb question:  a few months ago I installed Squeezecenter beta 7.4 on my Mac mini, and have been using it ever since with no problems with my MW Transporter.

Purchased a Squeezebox for the wife and attempted to install the Sqctr software on her computer--when I go to look at the beta 7.4 version availability, I don't seen a "Squeezecenter 7.4" for Mac OSX--instead there are "Squeezebox Server" and "Squeezeplay" downloads for Mac operating systems.....do I use the "Squeezebox Server" version?

Thanks for any insight!

Thanks; I suspected that was it, but I don't recall it being named "Squeezebox Server" (instead of "Squeezecenter") when I downloaded it to my Mac mini before.

Best,

Randy

NP.  I simply was aware of it because I recently added another Squeezebox to my LAN.  Enjoy.

The name of the server has been changed since that earlier beta version that you downloaded.  Actually, quite a lot has changed and the beta 7.4 software is fairly unstable right now.  A lot of changes have been made to the database and scanning portions of the program and they haven't been fully debugged.

I would recommend installing the beta 7.3.4, which is 7.3.3 with quite a few bug fixes.
