Title: Cap value substitution question
Post by: sts9fan on 10 Dec 2009, 01:20 pm
Hello I have a question on whether I can switch in a bigger cap on a simple chip amp I am building.  I have all the parts except the 2200uf caps.  I do have some 10000uf caps that I would like to use insted.  Any input would be great.

Just don't forget the 100nF bypass caps.

On that note.  A bypass cap just needs to be nonpolar, correct?  If it is mylar not polyester would not cause any issues?

Mylar is another name for polyester film, specifically biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate or boPET. Dupont's name for this product was trademarked Mylar.
