« on: 26 May 2014, 08:07 pm »
Still looking for the right speakers for my m451, i came across the B & W 685s2 and the Q Acoustics Concept 20
Looking at it's specs i think both might be right speakers. Anyone (dis)agree?

Those are magnificent speakers and will sound great with Sensation.

I've heard that Q-Acoustic is nice.  In Europe you can probably pick up the Tannoy 601p.  For under $250 new it's very hard to beat.

For a bit more money ($350) and less bass, check out Music Hall Marimba.

While you're at it though, look for some book-shelfs with ribbons.  This type of speaker represents the future.  You just can't get the electric high-end without AMTs and a really, really fast woofer.

Golden Ear, Emotiva and others are doing it.  My friend David Fabrikant is going there with the Sierra-2.

To go the other way, try the Cambridge Audio Aero.  Very smooth full-range highs with low cross-over.  It's basically a point-source speaker.  But you won't get that rip your hair out rush you get with the ribbons.
