Request for local knowledge
« on: 3 Dec 2010, 01:04 pm »
Hi Guys;
I need some opinions/advice
I've got an old Pioneer DV-47A that has taken to ruining discs. I'm getting bands of abrasions toward the outer edge.
2 questions:
Is this thing worth fixing and where could I take it locally to get it repaired?
I live near Sanford.

Looks like a nice deck.

Try The Analog Store in Raleigh. He has worked on a lot of Elite gear when his shop was next door to Audio Designs, the Pioneer dealer (now defunct.) He does quality work.

Thanks richidoo, I'll check him out.
Overall, I've been pretty happy with the deck,but it was the first "universal" deck produced by a reputable manufacturer so the performance isn't on a par with the Oppo 83 SE (early adopter) but it's to good to just toss.
I can't imagine what could be scarring the discs this badly.
