Recommend basic AVR with Atmos and eARC
« on: 23 May 2020, 04:43 pm »
Hi everyone,

This is a forum that I rarely look at as my primary interest is 2 channel audio, so any help is appreciated.

I am looking for an affordable AVR ($500.00ish) that will allow for a 5 channels + 2 Atmos height channels for my newly upgraded home theater/Man-cave.

I recently splurged on a 75" Samsung Q90 to replace a 50" Pioneer Kuro. My current AVR is a basic Pioneer that doesn't have any of the current HDMI technology such as eARC.

My speakers are 7 Anthony Gallo A'Diva 3" single driver spherical speakers (8ohm, 50 watt). Subs are a combination of passive tapped horn TBI's and a huge DIY ULF hidden in the closet.

Any recommendations ?

Thank you,

And happy Memorial Day everyone.

Daniel

^ I have the RX-V485 model in this line - and use it mostly as an amp for 2-ch hifi music in a 2nd room : ).  Main viewing room has an older-but-better-sound RX-V773.  IMO Yamaha excels against the competition with their DAC circuits, even at the commodity level of these units.

Onkyo makes very good receivers. Mine is 11 years old and still going strong.
you might try usaaudiomart and find a used one. Not necessarily an Onkyo
