SOLD: Oppo Sonica DAC Streamer Ric Schultz EVS Mods
« on: 21 Apr 2019, 04:46 pm »
I have an excellent condition Oppo Sonica DAC/Streamer with the ESS 9038 DAC chip along with EVS' super singled ended mod by Ric Schultz. Ric's $800 mod takes the Sonica to the next level. He replaced capacitors, clock, voltage regulators, analog output stage, internal wiring, adds transformer damping and more. The output signal has been routed exclusively to the RCA outputs, and the XLR balanced outputs have been deactivated for better SQ.

In addition to being an excellent DAC the Oppo Sonica is also an easy to use streamer, capable of handling UPNP streaming, Bluetooth, Airplay, etc.

I'm asking SOLD or best offer, plus shipping. At my asking price it's like getting the EVS mods for free. I accept PayPal but the buyer is responsible for paying their fees. I also accept USPS money orders.

I will only ship within the US. The Oppo comes with its original box and manuals.

I have excellent feedback on Ebay as Gelajoy (1000+ rating at 100%.)

Last price I saw was ~$800.
A Great Deal for the new owner!
Why do people insist on removing the sale price when the Forum rules clearly say not to do it... :duh:

I agree.  Why are some people being so secretive?
The sale prices make a nice used-market database for us. Otherwise we would have to pay to see Audiogon's blue book to get info like this. Maybe the people who delete the price are just trying to hide $ from their spouse or something, but maybe they should have their accounts locked for using this forum to sell their gear for free and refusing to share the data from the transaction with the forum. :nono:

If they think this violates their privacy, let them go somewhere else and pay a fee to sell their stuff...
and see if Audiogon or eBay let you delete data after the sale.  Ridiculous.
I ridicule anyone who deletes the price after the sale.

What kind of tweak deactivates XLR out?! Balanced is always better
