I only need a pre-preamp

that is, about 30db of gain to overcome the tube rush in my arc sp3c.  when using a mc and a transformer of about 20db of gain (ortofon T20), the gain just isnt quite enough.

is ther or could there be a hagtech product with this capability (30db of gain) and say some adjustable impedance?

this is hopefully going to be in the BUDGET category.  i dont need another preamp, i need a gain stage.

They are traditionally called "head amps".  Usually solid-state gain stages built for small signal and super-low noise.  You need to be careful not to overdrive the inputs of your phono stage.  I would think a head amp plus stepup into a tube phono stage would be too much.

So far I have no plans for such a device.  Too busy designing my new Constructor series of half-kits: Cornet phono, Clarinet linestage, Chime DAC, and Cymbal monoblock.

jh :)
