Hi gberger

Fits the rack better

No just kidding - I use the BP26 because it is a bit more forward sounding than the BP-17 and at shows it is more attention getting on short term listening.

All I saw attending the show was middle aged men, just like me!

Some of the mega systems were poorly setup, and muddy or boomy.

I was surprised at how damn good the big Bryston sounded though.

Thanks! I'm using a BP-6 and have been debating with myself whether to get the BP-26 or the BP-i7.  I have a very long run between the preamp and my 4BSST2 amplifier, and  I'd like to switch from RCA to XLR for the run.

I attended a hi-end audio show in L.A. in 2017, and although there were some superb systems, I was dismayed at how many of the speakers had boomy mid-bass.  In the demo room of a new (to the U.S.) speaker brand that has received lots of rave reviews recently, the speaker's celebrity designer was present.  I didn't quite have the nerve to tell him I thought his speakers sucked.

Great sound James.

Sorry I couldn't stop and say hello, too many people in your room. Yours was a very popular room by the looks of it.

Well deserved too.

James

Great setup of your active T Rex model T’s at the Toronto Audio Show this weekend.

I look forward to listening to the tower arrangement of the Middle T-REX soon.

I noted that there were 4 different companies demonstrating active speakers at the show.  It is definitely the future.

Please let me know when the 24B is available to purchase.

Best regards
Drew

The setup sounded great. I wish i had more time to spend here. The sound was so smooth and effortless with an expansive soundstage.

Hi Folks,

Introducing Wireless powered versions of the Bryston A1, A2 and Mini A speakers.

james

What exactly is a “wireless version?” Does that mean the bookshelves and towers have built-in amplification, streaming, DAC, etc? Kind of like the Bluesound, Sonos, et al speakers that seem to be dominating the market, only in an “actual” speaker? Really cool idea if it is.

Any idea when they’ll be released, US pricing, etc.?

HI Stu

So far this is what I have.

MEMO: To All Bryston Customers
SUBJECT: Go Wireless

October 2018

Hi Folks,

Bryston is please to introduce some WIRELESS POWERED versions of our A Series and Subwoofer loudspeakers.

Bryston ‘WIRELESS’ A1, A2, Mini A speakers as well as the T-8, T-12 and Mini T Wireless Subwoofers. The A1 and A2 speakers incorporate a 500 watt internal amplifier and the A1 Mini a 70 watt amplifier.  The T-8, T-12 and Mini T Subwoofer incorporate a 500 watt amplifier as well.

These wireless speakers come with a Wireless 4 in 1 Transmitter which lets you stream from any device using Airplay (Apple) or UPnP (Android, Windows).

A Pre-Amplifier that gives you volume control and lets you switch between inputs such as your TV or media player.

A Transmitter that sends the sound to each speaker (and to an optional subwoofer or 2) wirelessly.

The Bryston Web App / UI – via an on-board computer called the Raspberry Pi. Play content from your network, or a USB drive, and pair more than one system together to get multi-room capability. Play music in one room or in every room that has a system.

Pricing will be available shortly.

This is basically 2 active model Ts stacked, although the top half is a little different from the bottom.

They sound amazing.

Attended the show in Toronto, sound was awesome.

Although not played very loud, those were active speakers.

Each driver is powered by an independent amplifier channel-tweeter,midrange & woofer.

The advent of wireless mated with powered speakers from a manufacturer like Bryston is indeed interesting.

I have been waiting for a solution like this, and look forward to learning more about it and reading reviews in the future.

Congrats!

Hi James,

I've been using a BP-6C for several years, but with the new locations of my speakers - - 26 feet from the preamp, I decided to go ahead and get a preamp with balanced outputs, rather than having 30-foot runs of 10 gage speaker cables. My choice was between the BP-26 and the BP-17.    (4BSST2 amp)

Based on your earlier comment,   " . . . I use the BP26 because it is a bit more forward sounding than the BP-17... ," I ordered a BP-17 this afternoon.

Thanks,

George
