I was wondering whether anyone had any views as to whether replacing the stock 400v capacitors with ones of a higher, say, 600v rating had any downsides, benefits or otherwise.

Any thoughts appreciated, as I the opportunity to obtain some better(?) (i.e. more expensive!) ones with a 600v rating, but at a 'bargain' price.

Usually (but not always) bigger voltage ratings of a capacitor means some better leakage, loss and stability properties, but to say for sure it's better to compare at least several parameters.

Thanks - I've realised (on basic level) that size may be an issue with the larger 600v caps, so I'm going to have to do dome careful measuring before parting with my hard-earned cash!
