6F6G Amplifier
« on: 10 Mar 2008, 01:24 am »
How does it look? I have the Z565's, PA774, and the tubes. I'm also considering using a single 6EM7 per channel, the high gain half direct-coupled to a concertina formed by the low gain/low Ra half, Williamson style.

I've got 8 Russian 6F6G types on hand, but am prepared to try new production 6V6's as well..

It's been suggested that I incorporate some 6SN7's as CF's direct coupled to the 6F6's, as the 6SL7's are a bit wimpy in the current department.  I'm exploring that option at the moment as well.

If it were me, I'd put a CCS in the tail of the LTP if you go with the topology shown in the schematic.

That has been suggested as well, and would probably be very easy to implement. It'd let me use perfectly balanced plate resistors, right?

Yep.
