Title: Toslink Optic Issues
Post by: AllynW on 16 Jun 2019, 02:29 am
The digital optic output on my late 2012 mini is not working.  It's using Mojave.  It worked a few years back.  My question is: Did Apple stop support with Mojave?

My 2012 Mac Mini is running Mojave and I'm using the Toslink optical connection as an input as I write this.  Cable damage, perhaps?

Thanks for reply. I'm thinking its a software related issue.  First thing is checked is the cable, I have two.

If you plug the optic fiber into the device it is from. and look at the free end. If it is running, the red light will be visible at the end of the optic fiber cable.

In addition to what has been suggested make sure it's all the way in. There's a brief bump feeling as you get it connected. Can be tricky.

Thx for replies. Issue solved.  Not one but two broken/crimped cables. A new one arrived over the holiday.
