SACD hybrids on a non-SACD player?

Are there sonic benefits to playing a hybrid SACD version of a CD, if I only have a redbook player?

Only if the redbook layer (the only layer you can access) has been remastered with better sound than a non-SACD version you could obtain.  In many cases, the redbook layer is the same or similar enough to a late model redbook-only version that it's not worth the effort.
