All I remember are the words "Pink clouds, cotton-candy skies and you" or "Pink skies, cotton-candy clouds and you". Gentle rock as I recall.
What group was this? Which CD or LP?

Air Supply had a song that goes "Close your eyes and fill the skies with cotton candy clouds"...?   Hope it helps....Not an Air Supply fan.

Could you have the words wrong?

Is it "Orange Skies...,"?

If so, the band is Love, and the album is De Capo.  It is a very good album.

Their other album, Forever Changes, has a loyal cult following.  Fans passionately believe it to be the finest rock album ever made.

Yes!! Love it is, and it's Orange Skies, not friggin' pink

You're welcome.

Love were a superb band, and highly under rated in many ways.

You could not go wrong buying both De Capo and Forever Changes.  De Capo is instantly accessible and has at least 4 classic tracks.  Forever Changes takes a bit of effort to fully appreciate its subtle charms, but it is well worth the effort.

I'm not sure what you mean by "under rated"?  I've seen their name on many "Best 100 albums of all time" lists, so they may well be acknowledged by critics.  They might  be underrated by the masses--heck, I had never heard of them 'til a friend (who's slightly older) tried to convince me, unsuccessfully, of their merits.

I've given up trying to figure out which albums are the best of all time:
there are always so many titles that I just don't like. I realize there MUST be something there that garners all this praise, but I've stopped trying to force myself into appreciation.

Yet another list, the top 885 songs of all time as voted by the listeners of XPN 88.5 (surprise!)...  What I found interesting was the included lists of top ten songs by various artists/celebs/dj's etc.....

"I'm Your Captain" by Grand Funk is just 885!!!  Why it's at LEAST 796 (IMHO)!!!!

I didn't find Alvin & the Chipmunks rated at all---what heathens the XPN listeners must be.

Under rated in the sense that they did not get the recognition of their peers (The Doors, Creedence, CSN, or even the Chipmunks for that matter!!).

I'm just a fan who likes to plug their music whenever the opportunity arises.
