Bob: When Abbie moves out can I move in?????? That grilling looks awesome.
(I'll even supply the brews).

Ohh, I like that idea. Of course, I'll have to talk to the wife about adopting "this random audio guy I met on the internet".
I'm sure she'll be fine with it.   :icon_twisted:

BISL - Do you like Rumaki? Your pictures suggest that you'd love it, cooked just like that..

I've never heard the word, but it turns out I am.

Bob:
Burgundy or Merlot? Pino seems a little soft for the bold flavors ya got goin on there ()but what do I know).
(Talk to the wife yet), I'm drooling on that steak.
New grocery store opened up near me, Lidl, with Hereford steaks that are pretty expensive. I'll spurge one of these days.

Merlot, thank you very much.
I grill/smoke a lot, to say the least, but my girls (wife/daughter) aren't steak fans, so we don't have it very often. Wife said it's been a couple YEARS since we had steak.  :o

Years???
I love my steak.  Growing up, we always had a small herd of cattle, so beef was always on the menu.  Steak was at least weekly.  I still seldom go two weeks without a rib eye, sirloin, or NY strip off the grill.  Last night was left over sirloin with a Spanish grenache.

Yea, YEARS.  :duh:
She thinks it was two summer vacations ago.
Hard to believe actually. Part of the problem, is I live out in the sticks, and on the weekend when I spontaneously want a steak, I have to drive further than I'm willing to, to get a good cut.
This was the "fanciest" cut my local store had in stock.

OK, now I just don't understand. Are you telling me that you live without a chest freezer full of beef??? :o :o
I knew that St. Louis wasn't Texas, but my god, you must live on the dark side of the moon! One steak every two years? At that rate, how many more do you figure to consume in this life??  I bet I've got you covered with stock on hand!  Seriously, I keep a couple of briskets, 12-18 steaks, 2-3 roast, and 4-5 lbs of stew meat on hand at all times.

Son, you com'on down to Texas and let us fatten you up with decent vittles.

Man after my own heart.  I love a strip.  My go to steak at least 3x a month.

And good to see someone else embracing butter on a steak.  Won’t help the waistline, but my tastebuds send me a thank you card every time!

Scott, I am ashamed and embarrassed. I'll try to step up my beef game.
But yea, I don't have a deep freeze. There's a "second" fridge in the man cave, and the freezer is full of things I've smoked (pulled pork, "fatties", and various "stocks"), but no raw uncooked meat.

Mark, that was my first compound butter. A definite "must" for steaks, that was very good.

Thanks Jerry.   :D
Best $30 I've ever spent on the BBQ, and great use for an old/outdated Android phone.  :thumb:

Hah, I just donated 2 older Android phones this AM when upgrading my wife to an iPhone 7+.

A very cool thing there though!

I am making chili with my daughters for the Grey Cup tomorrow (the Canadian football league Superbowl).

Made this a few nights ago for myself while the wife was on biz trip. Salisbury steak, mashed taters, and green beans with mushroom gravy.

That's it. We have a winner! Did it taste near as good as it looks?

Oh yes, very much so!
So juicy, I had to pour it out of the cavity! Best turkey I think I've had.
This is the fourth or fifth year we've smoked one, first year I've brined one.
