So, I was looking for USB DAC's and kinda had my mind set on what chip I wanted. The Burr-Brown PCM by TI seemed like it would fit my tastes.
So DAC shopping I went.. Stumbled on a small cheap "dac destroyer" by HotAudio. Man, I wasn't expecting the sound to improve much but it has. I originally sold my main PC that had a pretty good turtle beach sound card in it. Since moving, I built a new rig and was using onboard sound, sure it was a step up from my laptop but now I know just how bad it was. This DAC is much better then my IPOD or IPHONE.
The guy hand solders them in Canada... I took it apart to admire his handwork, so clean and beautiful. I have nothing bad to say about this product.
Best 29 bucks I ever spent. Using the RCA interconnects provided by Seth, the one.3 sounds like it should.
Probably consider getting a Raspberry Pi for serving up the MP3's and IP radio in the future.
