A customer asked me to compare Cherry MEGA MONO (with 1500W transformer and Quad Rail Caps) to McIntosh MC501 (discontinued) since that's what he has currently.  Both are monoblocks....

    Cherry: 900W

THD+N, 10W into 8Ω
    McIntosh: 0.005%
    Cherry: 0.001%

SNR, A-weighted
    McIntosh: 124dB
    Cherry: 120dB

Damping Factor
    McIntosh: 100
    Cherry: >400

Frequency Response
McIntosh: 10Hz to 100kHz (AC coupled)
Cherry: 0Hz to 150kHz (DC coupled)

Input Impedance
    McIntosh: 20kΩ
    Cherry: 20kΩ

Input Sensitivity
    McIntosh: 4.2V
    Cherry: 3.2V

Weight
    McIntosh: 92 lbs
    Cherry: 42 lbs

Idle Power Consumption
McIntosh: unknown (expected to be >100W)
    Cherry: 20W

Maybe we should compare with the new (not officially released yet) MEGA SW, which puts out 1000W and weighs less than 20 lbs!
