This is an early USB converter. Requires a driver on the computer used. Same as the M-Audio Transit I believe. If you go to m-audio.com website, you should be able to download the driver for it.
Does it have an XLR on the end of the cable? If so, this is AES/EBU. Digital audio input on many high-end DACs.
It is upgradable to have the latest low-jitter modifications, assuming it still works.
