I've now received 2 emails from customers noting that the batteries -- sold with the Gary Dodd battery power supply -- are now dead.  It is true that these have a finite number of recharges possible.

You can buy these batteries in the after market and replacing them does not require soldering.

Please use this thread to discuss and document other battery options and/or replacement snafus.  This is a good battery but it is not the only battery you can use.  Most SLA batteries are roughly and materially equivalent (although some have better performance with audio than others).

I am thinking of replacing the SLA batteries in my Dodd Battery PSU with Tenergy 12.8V 4.5Ah LiFePO4 Rechargeable Battery.  These are drop in replacement for SLA batteries according to the seller (Tenergy 12.8V 4.5Ah LiFePO4 Rechargeable Battery).  Did anyone try replacing the SLA battery with LiFePO4?  Your experience and insight is greatly appreciated.

I've been wondering the same thing. Vinnie at Red Wine Audio is sold on the LiFeP04 batteries. I wonder how significant an upgrade it is?

I cannot speak to audio performance but six months ago I purchased that model battery for my security system from the dealer listed. Packaging was poor--no box.  It was wrapped in bubble wrap and a Flat Rate envelope from the USPS. I mean the envelope was wrapped around the battery like wrapping paper.  The battery was not inside the envelope. It did not look legit to me. 

On the positive side the battery was not damaged and the dealer did ship very promptly. And the shipping charge was minimal. 

FWIW...I bought two of these batteries - as replacements. They work perfect.
