rich makes very good points. How big a front horn can you live with?

 horn will only load 3 maybe 4 ocatves. Oris lifts the lower range so the rising response of the Lowthers is matched with th egain from the horn down low.

Given the larger throast needed to support a 10 or 12”, you can sort of imagine taking a saw to your Oris and cutting the skinny end until it is big enuff to support the driver. Now we have a much shorter horn (for the same LF cutoff) but not as much gain.

So no point unless you are willing to go lower (and way bigger) it doesn’t make much sense. And now that the horn is producing more LF and not as much gain up high the wavelengths are long enuff that A BLH will produce similar, if not better, performance.

And then factor in that i figure the optimum sixe for a single FR driver system is 4-5”, and if you say, i need more bass, i’ll go bigger, but you lose midTop performance. If you really want more bottom, build a WAW.
