Jason,

Believe me it is my pleasure.  I appreciate someone that enjoys audio and the love of music as much as I do and you ALWAYS come up with ideas and suggestions that make me think.  I very much enjoy what I do for a living and the people that come with it.

Anytime, my friend, anytime.  Good listening.........

 :D

Anyone else interested in getting a Mutha?  You just need many components to plug in.   :D  Another reason to get a Mutha, you get to buy more equipment.

Is the Mutha audibly different than was the Uber or is it just that it can handle far more equipment?

Mike,

The Mutha has 5 separate EMI/RFI components with individual Power Factor Correction modules.  It also has 9 individual after filters (one for each outlet) that I have never used in a production unit.  3 of the circuits are basic Uber circuits with the after filters.  There are two circuits that I have designed specifically for Jason's need.  One is a humongous EMI/RFI/PFC network to supply his Clayton 300W class A monoblocks (they draw 1600W).  The other is an enhanced digital filter supply for his Wavelength Cosecant Crimson DAC and the MacMini and HDD.  Mutha is wired with DH Labs Red Wave wire - the same as his new power cables to carry that signature all of the way through the A/C supply.

This is a custom unit in all aspects.

I gave it a listen before shipping it off to Jason.  I know what I think, but I will let Jason reply as to the sonics.  I'm the Daddy you know  :D

Thanks Dave.  I have no doubt it excels!  Just curious how that may translate sonically.

Jason, my pleasure.  I do this to make a living, of course, but it is people like you that give me joy in the doing of what I do.  After a lifetime of working for the "man"... er, the corporation... it makes me very happy to share some of the things that I have learned to make other's enjoyment of music more satisfying.  When you work in the semiconductor industry you learn what makes them tick.  It certainly isn't dirty power.  That is the difference in technology between tubes and solid state and solid state carried to our end = digital audio.  Tubes can function with power generated from a guy riding a bicycle turning a generator.  Digital audio, in particular, is very picky about power purity.  That is why there is not a "one size fits all" BUSS.  Your MuthaBUSS has 3 different filter types in it, each for a particular purpose.  I guess that it is working well from you comments.

Cool...........

I skimmed through the thread again but didn't see if the finished weight was given.  Dave, can you remember what the beautiful beast tipped the scales at?  Just curious as it has nothing to do with SQ.

Thanks,
JakeJ
