Hi guys forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I noticed the elephant missing from the room here is Alpha-Tech. I can only assume people here are not a fan for some reason. I've only heard good things about them. Is there a reason people here don't like A-T?

I've heard the name, but know nothing about them.
Please elaborate. STL has no haters, I'll add them.  :thumb:

Mike Missel is a GAS member, and widely regarded as the best tech in the entire region.  Tactful enough for ya?

Is he the mjmsound@yahoo.com one mentioned previously? I tried emailing him and it was returned as undeliverable.

Anyone know off hand if he does analog tuner alignments?

Mike can now be reached at stereotechnician@gmail.com.  I'm sure he aligns tuners.  I think he did one for me a long time ago.

Just a little bump here. If you have a company please check to make sure your information is correct.
Also, if you see anything that's incorrect, please let me know and I'll edit it.
Thanks!

Good afternoon fellow audiophiles. I'm new to this society page, and wanting to become a member in the St Louis area. Our newly developing company design and build affordable high-end speakers. Our first store demos are at Stereo Haven high-end audio. Charlie Schnyder, owner has become a good friend and recommended we join the local society. My brother Daryl Iossi and myself are retired engineers from a lifetime in aerospace and automation from southern California (former). We now live in Centralia, Illinois where we both design and build high-end speakers for home audio. First design is a 94-96dB sensitivity 3-way matching speaker. Sound is detailed and lively, with a disappearing into live like sound.
We'd love to have a group join us, if any are interested in a pair of new friends to join your group. In met a couple of your members at Music for Pleasure a couple year's ago. Dynaudio was displaying some interesting models during that evening festivities. Thanks, in advance..

Just figured I'd throw out another few names for the list of music shops since I didn't see a few on here.

Dead Wax Records
1959 Cherokee St, St. Louis, MO 63118
Only open Friday/Sat/Sundays 12-5. Small shop, but generally a very nice selection of mostly used vinyl.

Kismet Creative Center
3409 Iowa Avenue, St. Louis, MO, St. Louis, MO 63118
Just off Cherokee and down the street from Dead Wax. Another small shop, specialize in lesser known/obscure stuff, also lots of bric-a-brac and such, pipes and other paraphernalia for sale if that bothers you.

Music Record Shop
3224 Locust St #203, St. Louis, MO 63103
Midtown, second floor shop with new and used vinyl and CDs, mostly focused on new and reissued vinyl.

Planet Score Records
7421 Manchester Rd, St. Louis, MO 63143
Maplewood shop with a good selection of new and used vinyl and CDs. Lots of good stuff.

There's also a couple places in Collinsville, across the river.

Rich's Record Emporium
131 W Main St, Collinsville, IL 62234
Their vinyl selection is a bit limited to me, mostly classic rock when I've been there, but they also have a large room full of quality stereo gear.

Monster Vinyl
107 E Main St, Collinsville, IL 62234
Kitchy spot with a decent selection of vinyl at quite low prices along with a ton of horror memorabilia. All used stuff here.

Anyway, maybe everyone around here already knows about these, but I didn't see them listed.

They carry Marantz, Rogue, Hegel, PMC Triangle, a few other lines and some SET gear. Mark, who manages the store, used to run a stereo shop in Belleville, I think.

Speaking of Stereo Have, in Edwarsville, IL, have they been officially added to the list.

Charlie has some good things like Ayre, VTL, Leben and Aurender, to name a few.  I'm  not sure what all speakers he has.  He also has Sugden.

He goes by appointment: 618-974-8895
