Hello all and happy new year to all of you!
Am here as you can imagine with a problem...you must all be bored of this, but anyway here I am.
Am happy owner of newprime st 10 and have recently aquired a new dac which should offer a balanced output. I say should cause I have plugged it in and only get sound on trad RCA imput. Have switched the toggle behind from unbalanced to balanced but nothing has happened. Anything I am missing? Faulty cables (just got a cheap pair from amazon) ? Faulty Dac? Faulty amp?
If anyone has any ideas , am all ears :)
Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi, what is the name and model of the DAC?  Did you buy balanced cables meaning XLR's not RCA cables?  I am assuming that you did.

Will be helpful for us to see a photo of your connection between ST-10 and other DAC.  If you have a cheap DAC that has a fake balance connector, that would be a problem. Check that both the RCA and XLR inputs of ST-10 are not active and connected at the same time. The switch on the back panel of ST-10 is not a preamp or input selector.  It is there to adjust the grounding of the input.

Ok thanks for your first answers. My DAC is a SMSL M500 mkIII. I bought xlr not rca cables though cheap ones on Amazon. Plugged in without RCA cables. As for the switch I get that what it is now thanks.
Am going to try a different pair of cables just to be sure. Will try to post photos.
