Will a NuForce 8.5V3 stereo amp be strong enough to drive my Magnepan LRS's?

I don't drive them hard. The room is 14'x16" and I cross over the low frequencies actively to my subwoofer so bass notes through the Maggies will be minimized.
Thanks!

Jason can likely answer that question best.

The former NuFORCE amps typically had higher damping, which is good.

That said, a quick Google shows an example of that amp on EBAY for around $1500.

For a bit more, you could move up to the NuPRIME-X Fusion 3X delivering 200W at 8Ω and 400W at 4Ω,

You would have to idle the third channel, but overall it would offer significantly better performance.

Very stable and can operate down to 3 ohms.

Oh no, this is a used one with manufacturers approved mods (noise reduction and chassis damping). The asking price is very low.

They will drive them no problem, I use to have the 9SE V2 when they first came out. They drive most things without even getting hot. I gave them away to a friend after owning them for about 2 years, he still has them now after all these years.

Amazing after more than 15 years this Nuforce 8.5V3 (the original 8.5 is 19 years old now, forgot when V3 was introduced) is still working. 8.5 has much less power, so I think it will work but not bring out the best in Magnepan.

Contact us to upgrade to AMG One (the closest to Nuforce sound characteristic).
