Still running MMG's by ST70

Myth. You can't run Maggies from a low powered tube amp. Truth is I'm still running my 10 year old MMG's from Franks Modded ST70.
They still rock the house. With an old REL sub, they are the truest and clearly shine in tube heaven.
Any nay sayers?

Definitely NOT a naysayer here.  Around the turn of the century, I was running a pair of MMG's with a conrad-johnson CAV-50.  This only put out 45 wpc, but it sounded glorious driving the Maggies.

Just for S&G I ran my old modded MMGs with a 20 watt NAD 3020B integrated.  It's always been touted as a high current amp, exactly what the Maggie's want.  It quickly ran out of steam at high volumes, and couldn't deliver much in the way of dynamics, but at lower volumes and acoustic music it was delightful.

I ran some LRS' with a Carver 275 amp for a bit.
It sounded really good but no dynamics so off it went.
The VTL ST-85 was quite the improvement!

I was given an NAD 3020B, it sounded find with the MMGs at moderate levels.

I run my .7s with my 300b monos sometimes. Up to about 70db it's fine with a Rel sub. You would be surprised how good 8 watts can sound.

I have run my 1.7s with Frank’s new 60 watt integrated amp. I have to crank the volume way up but they sound fantastic.
