They took the name from an article about some young entrepreneurs who procured Sneakers for the likes of The Beastie Boys and other customers who have to have the latest in sneaker fashion.
Their 1st album Becoming X is firmly entrenched as one of the Top 5 Trip Hop albums ever recorded.
Splinter is their sophomore effort. It's more rock oriented but I really like it. It has a different sound probably from parting ways with the female vocalist from Becoming X.
Their third outing iffy at best Bill. Stream them, you will like them.i have Becoming X and Splinter on 45 rpm half speed Vinyl too.

Blackstar / Bowie

I’ve never listened to this album. My daughter loves it.

He wanted a different sound so he put together accomplished jazz musicians. Alot of keyboards but  has a drifting ethereal vibe.
