The ENCORE mDSD is capable of decoding sample rates ranging from 44.1kHz to 384kHz (PCM) as well as native DSD decoding ranging from DSD 64 up to DSD 256, making it the most capable and compact USB-powered portable DAC on the market today!
It can be powered directly by iPhone, iPad, Android devices, PC and Mac.

Difference between NuPrime uDSD and Encore mDSD:
uDSD has more headphone amp power, RCA outputs and is positioned as a connecting device between computer and home stereo, or for entry level desktop DAC with headphone and monitor speaker.

mDSD can be powered directly by smart phones and weight only a few ounces. Both uDSD and mDSD have very good sound quality but mDSD is positioned for mobility.  It is great for travel use and not worrying about charging it.  mDSD consumes much less power (iPhone USB output current is limited to 20mA and iPhone 6 has 1800mAH battery) as compared to other circuits inside the phone.
