Unplugging your gear for the weekend?

Always have enjoyed astronomy and I might get treated to a performance of the Aurora Borealis due to the solar storm - I rarely see them here on the East Coast.

Aurora forecast for Canada.

Hope you see it.  Once in a lifetime type thing.

I flew to Indianapolis to see the Eclipse ... Once in a lifetime thing.  Black hole in the sky.  I think the northern lights would top that.

Happening here in Washington State. I am just on the other side of the Strait from Vancouver Island. Really incredible! First time seeing the Northern lights.

I began my early evening with great disappointment as we were experiencing a heavy overcast - had a look again outside at 2200HRS and low and behold, I viewed a starry sky. So I spent last evening on the deck enjoying the show. We usually require a KP 6-7 to have Aurora in our area. The sky was literally dancing with waves and pulsing sheets of light - it was actually quite bright out due to the Aurora and our night sky classification is a Class 3ish Bortle.

Last evening's Aurora were mostly bland in colour - the best I have seen were in Northern Alberta, Inuvik, Yellowknife and Norway.

As our magnetic field is weakening and pole shift on the way, we're going to experience more heavenly displays.

If anyone is interested, check out SuspiciousObservers on YouTube - it's an awesome channel with respect to information about the sun.
